Measure and weigh
| Item | How to check |
|---|---|
| Overall dimensions | Measure length, width, and height, and compare with the spec. |
| Inner sleeping area | Measure inside the rim or the bolster. |
| Rim or bolster height | Measure at several points; look for uneven fill. |
| Total weight | Weigh the finished bed and, where possible, the cover and the fill separately. |
| Fabric weight | Cut a small swatch from an inside seam allowance, if allowed, and weigh it against its area. |
Construction
- Stitch density and straightness; look for skipped stitches.
- Seam strength by hand pulling at the corners.
- Zipper smoothness, tab durability, and whether the zipper catches the fabric.
- Labels sewn in the right position and readable.
- Loose threads, glue marks, or stray fibers.
Use tests
- Wash once at the label setting and compare size, color, and fill with the unwashed twin.
- Press and release the bed to check recovery.
- Leave the bed under a weight for 24 hours and check recovery.
- Spot test the color against a white cloth by rubbing.
Sign-off
Write the approved dimensions, weights, and fabric and fill description into one document, attach photos, and have both sides acknowledge it by email. That document is the reference for the production inspection. Keep one unopened twin of the approved sample for comparison.
